Cabinet refinishing in Houston
We're Adela Hinojosa, her son Moises and a crew of four. Doors go to our shop, frames are finished in your kitchen, and a day-by-day plan keeps your sink, stove and refrigerator in use.

The plan
An example week. The plan we write for your kitchen says which days are tight, and what you can use on each.
We text a one-page packing list. Dishes and food go on a table in another room, with the kettle, toaster and microwave.
Use: everything, until we arrive
Every door and drawer front gets a number, and hinges and pulls go in a labeled bag. Floors and counters are covered and uncovered by evening.
Use: sink, stove, refrigerator
The dusty day, so plan a microwave dinner. We control the dust and clean before we leave.
Use: sink and refrigerator. The stove stays covered
Frames get primer and two finish coats by brush and fine roller. The doors get theirs in our shop, on racks.
Use: sink, stove, refrigerator. Keep hands off cabinet edges
Doors are hung, hinges adjusted and pulls put back, and you walk the kitchen with Adela. Large kitchens add days.
Use: the whole kitchen, gently
The finish keeps hardening after it feels dry. Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and wait before hanging things on doors.
Use: everything, with a light touch
Kitchen sizes
Kitchens are priced by counting doors, drawer fronts and frames. These are the sizes most kitchens fall into.
Up to about 15 doors and drawer fronts. A galley, a condo or a first apartment kitchen.
About 16 to 30 doors and drawer fronts. A typical family kitchen with a pantry or a run of uppers.
31 or more doors and drawer fronts, usually with an island or a pantry wall.
Your written price counts your doors.
What we refinish

Vanities take humidity every day, so they get a primer made to hold.
Vanities and built-ins
Window seats, hall drawers and paneled cabinets in a color that matches the trim.
Built-insThe shop
Doors dry on racks in our Garden Oaks shop, away from your cooking and from Houston's wet air.
Sprayed in a booth that's cleaned between colors
Numbered to match their openings, so each goes back on its own hinge
Back on a day we give you before the doors leave

The crew
Six people finish every kitchen, and the names on your written price are the people who come to your house. Adela, Moises, Eladio and Lizeth speak Spanish and English.

Sample reviews
“They counted every door from our photos and the price matched the final bill. We ate at the table the whole week and never lost the stove.”
“Honey oak with deep grain, and Adela showed me three filled and unfilled samples before I chose. The doors came back numbered, the right way up.”
“I was nervous about no kitchen for two weeks. The plan told me which two days would be dusty, and I planned takeout around them.”
“Moises explained everything in Spanish for my mother, who lives with us, and in English for me. Both of us signed off at the walk-through.”

Questions
Yes. We spray the doors and drawer fronts in our shop and finish the frames in your kitchen by brush and fine roller, so the sink, stove and refrigerator stay in use. Two days are tight, when the frames are sanded and when they get their finish coats. We tell you which days ahead so you can plan a microwave or takeout.
Doors, drawer fronts and frames counted one by one, the repairs, the coats and sheen, the color, hardware off and back on, the days, the payment schedule and what's left out. It's a message with numbers, not a range.
Most kitchens take five to eight working days from the day the doors come off. A large kitchen, an island in a second color or heavy repairs add days. Your written price gives the days for your kitchen; it isn't a promised date.
Houses built before 1978 may have lead-based paint, and sanding cabinets can disturb it. Tell us the age of the house when you ask for a price. We ask before we open anything, and where the federal EPA rules for the work apply, we follow them; our firm number is in the footer.
Adela, Moises, Eladio and Lizeth do, on the phone, in text and in your kitchen. Cesia and Cristofer work in English; ask for a Spanish speaker on any call. Every page of this site is also in Spanish.
